When I remove the checkmark of “Release driver when application in the background” in the Studio Setup in Cubase 11 Pro it is not saved, so the next time I startup Cubase, I have to go a remove the checkmark again. How do I get Cubase to save this changed setting?
Hi,
Does Cubase crash (silently) while Quit by any chance?
Hi
Thank you for your response. It’s not my impression that happens.
Hi,
Do you get the Safe Start Mode dialog while starting Cubase by any chance?
Is there any other settings which is not persistent?
No I just start it up normally - only thing is a window informing about some files/libraries that can’t be located which is related to some instruments I downloaded from Steinbergs horribly illogical hub and turned out it was not libraries/instruments I had purchased (for the life of me I can’t understand why you can download and install instruments etc. that you have not purchased) and I can’t figure out how to get rid of that warning about them. But I’m guessing this wouldn’t have anything to do with Cubase not saving changed settings in the Studio Setup page?
Hi,
You are right, the message you shared had nothing to do with the issue you described.
I’m wondering, if the issue would be present in Cubase with the fresh/factory preferences. Have you ever deleted Cubase preferences? Do you know how to do this?
To solve this issue, start Steinberg Library Manager and Remove the named libraries there.
I think I did that factory preferences delete once many years ago. I’m sure I can find a how-to description online. Will try that.
Will also try your suggestion for getting rid of “problematic libraries after my vacation that starts now.
Thank you very much for your help.
Hi,
Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% Steinberg/Cubase X_64
Quit Cubase, then rename the preferences folder (for example from Cubase 12_64 to currentDate_Cubase 12_64). If you have had older Cubase installed (so you can see also Cubase 11_64 or other folders there), rename also these older Cubase preferences folder.
Then start Cubase. You will get the factory preferences. Setup the Release driver… accordingly. Quit Cubase and start it again. Does the settings persist?
Thank you I will try this back from holiday in a couple of weeks.
Cheers
