How hard is it to uninstall and reinstall cubase.

On Windows use the uninstaller and then install it from the original Full installer.
On Mac delete the application from the Applications folder and reinstall it from the original Full installer.
If you want to get the factory settings, trash Cubase preferences.
Why do you want to reinstall?
is there a specific process when re installing Cubase 8 on Imac with new internal hard drive.

Nothing specific. Just install Cubase, eLCC application, and plug in the USB-eLicenser with the license.
