Remove Halion 7

My dorico 5 has no sound and I keep getting the popup message from steinberg activation manager saying that I don’t have license for HALion 7. I never downloaded or installed it, how do I uninstall it from my mac? I cannot find it anywhere…

thanks

Welcome to the forum, @violin. Open Dorico’s Preferences dialog, and on the Play tab, set Default HALion plug-in to Use preferred, then set Preferred HALion plug-in to HALion Sonic. That should take care of the problem.

Thank you so much, it worked! Just a quick follow up, now the Halion Sonic screen pops up every time I open a dorico file, it does not effect the sound, but I am hoping to have it running in the background instead, and where is the setting for that? Thanks.

Take a look on the VST Plug-ins page of Preferences, where you can specify that plug-in windows should or should not open by default.

After confirming these settings, restart Dorico, open existing project, and Halion Sonic is not an option. I was able to select it in another project, but this one stubbornly refuses.

Hi @brownium , you need to reapply the playback template once more, then save the project and then you should be fine.

Thank you, that seems to solve the problem.
