Remove Rests & Part Layout Help

I’m trying to do an aleatoric notation but having issue with the layout after removing the rest.

Picture 1: Picture of the score: The Violin 2 Staff is exactly how I want it to appear in the score and parts (done by using “Remove Rests” in Edit)

Picture 2: Violin 2 Part: the “remove rests” feature has crunched the entire bars down to nothing.

Picture 3: Violin 1 Part has the spacing correct, but the rests need to be removed.

How can I fix this?

Have you tried to color the rests invisible instead of removing them? Note that you’ll need to propagate properties in order to have that result in all layouts.
