Greetings. Please remove the function of removing the plug-in from the insert using the delete button. It interferes a lot with work when you recording for example guitar and wanna delete the track but in return you removing the plug-in that was setting up before that. Or make it possible to return the plugin back with the settings saved using the undo function. Thanks in advance.
Why would they remove the option to delete things? You need to learn to click on the proper thing you want to delete before you hit it, or you just hit Undo after you record, there is no need to change anything. You need to learn to select things properly before using the commands.
When you record a track and press the stop button, the recorded material should be marked by default. When you are in the process of recording and you are your own musician, sound engineer and technical staff, you do not always have time to see exactly what is marked and very often the delete button deletes the plug-in instead of the track, while it is no longer possible to return the plug-in due to a undo and you have to load it again and set it up again.
Then slow down and pay better attention to what you are doing.
There is no excuse for that. You took half a second to hit the stop button, you can take half a second to go make sure you select the actual object you want to delete before you press the key.
Do you just randomly hit Delete on your desktop items without making sure you have what you want selected too?
It is much simpler to use the undo button, that’s why many people have it mapped to a controller or such like.
Or embrace the software and record to takes while you’re by the instrument so you can review/delete them later. It’s a much simpler process and keeps you focused on the performance.
The problem with changing an existing function is that there could be many people that rely on that as a part of their established workflow or macros.
Steinberg please DON’T remove this function.
