This is already doable, but not straight forward. You have to open the Remote Control Editor and rename the parameter’s name at “Main Label”.
Here’s for example a rename I made to Retrologue’s Filter Resonance parameter to Retro Res.
Note that this will not affect the currently selected track, but it will on a new track with this plugin and the change is permanent since it is written in an xml.
