Render seletion

Spectra Layers 12’s new selection tool and fade feature are fantastic.
With the new functions, I was able to create a perfect preview.
Now I’m wondering—how do I render selection?
I can find the render envelope, but not the render selection.”

I reckon you mean “selection” in the title…you can edit the title

In SL the method I use is to paste selection to another layer and then mute the source layer. Then “Export Mixdown” to create a soundfile of your choosing. There are clearly other ways to work.

New selection tool? The improved fade and resize of current selection amongst other features are new to SL12. Maybe you are coming from a much older version of SL?

If you’re using SL within Cubase as an extension (Audio > Extensions > SL) then you can drag and drop layers from the SL editor’s right-hand panel back into your regular tracks (like you’re importing an audio file).

Apologies if this isn’t your setup … but what you describe sounded familiar! I’ve used the above process with SL Go 12 (hosted within CB Pro 15). This “hosted” setup doesn’t display “export” or “render” options, as you describe (well, not that I could see, might be me!) and the manual’s a bit opaque (also might be me).

[For background, this was to try the “Unmix Song Vocals…” module, to compare the output with the built in Audio > Separate Stems… process.]
