I’ve done some research but I didn’t find a good/simple way to do this…
Once I’ve imported and sliced a loop in GA6SE how do I export each pad as a single wav file? I tried trimming but there’s no real difference when using “export kit with samples” function as the only file I get is the original loop…ù
I also tried rendering the loop midi file, creating regions, rendering them and reimporting but I didn’t get a good result…
Maybe I could try in project window creating slices from loop before importing it in GA or maybe, I’m thinking it now in real time, I could create a MIDI track with one hit for each single pad and reimport them in a second time but it would be a bit more complicated.
I think this could be a useful function in GA, anyway…
Not sure if this will help, and I haven’t had time to test it, but if you have Backbone, sometimes you can load individual pad wav files from GA into Backbone, and export the files from Backbone. Backbone acts as a file conversion “middle-man” sometimes.
Thank you both @Mic-E-Muzic and @awesomeaudio but I unfortunately haven’t nor Backbone neither GA full version…
I’m a bit surprised that GA6 se still hasn’t this function as in Battery 4 - since many years - you can easily render cell in place and this shouldn’t be that hard to implement…
What is the benefit or big advantage of chopping the one file into countless small pieces? What can you do then (easier or better) what you can’t do right now?
As GAse is a free version of Groove agent I’m surprised how many great features (including sample slice) are included.
Last time I looked Battery 4 is an additional 200 quid.
the answer is simple to me: having the possibility to render single cells, maybe after editing and processing them, would make possible to have one shot samples to reuse in some new - more customized - kit, in GA and or in other drum apps (like Battery, Studio Drummer or even IOS apps).
This function should not be much more complicated to implement, being similar to render or bounce in place in Cubase, and is present in way cheaper apps like Koala for iPad…
I know there are many other ways to get this done in Cubase (in audio editor and trough sample editor but why not having it directly in GA is a mystery to me)
Hi @Mrhehon, I’n not absolutely saying GA is a bad plugin, I’m only noticing there’s something that could be expected to be present…
I’ve been using Battery for many years, from Battery 3 time (2006, if I’m not wrong), when Groove Agent wasn’t absolutely what is now and so I upgraded to B4, that is still a great app, like Studio Drummer or others, each having some peculiar pros and cons, for much less than the price you say.
I also tried programming grooves in drum editor and/or drum machine then addressing them to B4 or SD…
