Reoccurring No Audio Issues

Hello, I know I’ve had to look this up several times, but I still encounter issues. I am trying to compare Cubase vs. Logic, and it’s been a hard decision. However, a major reoccurring issue is that I cannot get the sound to work. On Logic, it’s just plug-and-play. I never have to set up audio. In Cubase, it’s like I have to see it up every time and sometimes I can’t even get it to work. I have my MIDI controller connected with two speakers for the output.

I go to Studio > Studio Set-up > MIDI Port Set-up and I see “In All MIDI selected.”
I go to Preferences > Editing > Project & MixConsole > and I have both Enable Record on Audio/MIDI Track selected and it’s saved as permanent settings.
I get a light when I play a track, which means it recognizes my MIDI controller, but there’s no sound.
Emable record is selected for both tracks, but I don’t get the light when I play a note on the keyboard.

I am tired of always running into this issue. Any ideas?

I don’t know what the MIDI setting has to do with the audio interface.

That only enables the record function if you select a channel. It has nothing to do with the audio output.

What is your main audio device in Core Audio?

Output and input are listed as “Built-in audio” if that’s what you’re referring to.

I was just describing all of the troubleshooting steps I’ve received for looking up this problem online…

Isn’t the built in audio the interface in the MAC?

If it is, it didn’t even come out of there. I had an HDMI cable plugged in as well for an extra monitor. But like I said, I have a set of speakers plugged in, but they didn’t work. No audio anywhere.
