Hello, in the example below, and taken from there SHER Standards RealBook, I have circled where one can use the repeat chord symbol notation from the previous bar. I cannot find the shortcut for this symbol. I thought the percentage key % would be a suitable option, but I guess it is not. This isn’t a notation you would want to overuse, but in certain strategic places it works nicely without cluttering the score (as in this example, there are spots where SHER keeps the bar visually empty but the previous chord is implied).
The best way, I found, is to create an invisible line with the symbol as a centered annotation and the line snapping to barlines.
But I agree that a % input into the popover would have been intuitive…

Thank you YourMusic.Pro for your input.
Ok, I suppose there isn’t an official method to implement this idea. Maybe in future releases?
Allan,
well, creating lines is quite the official procedure in Dorico, it only lacks the “%” input into the Chord Symbol popover…
Are you clear on how to create this using the line? I can make a video, if you like, it really works very well!

![]()
Huh? I’ll be damned…
How do you get that extender line function to show up? Is it a line type you have to make, or an innate capability of chord symbols?
Alt-shift-right arrow with the chord symbol selected.
Jesper
Never knew that… awesome! Case closed.
P.S.: Well, I remember now that I did know this, but forgot that I knew… ![]()
Happens to me a lot.
