Here is a general notation question… Hope it’s all right: I want a song to repeat 3 times between the repeat bars, and stop the 3th time at Fine. I thought about two repeat endings where the first has “repeat 2 times“, and the second “al Fine“ written. But I guess it could be more simple, right? For instance, have “repeat 3 times, third time al Fine“ before the repeat bar?

Here is a way to get the desired playback sequence:
Select the end repeat barline and set Play n times to 3 and Count location to Neither. Then add text to describe the desired repeat structure. At a rhythmic position between the Fine and the end repeat barline, add a Segno and hide it. Then add a D.S. at the same position and hide it. Now add a D.S. al Fine at a different rhythmic position, hide it and move it to the position of the Segno. Finally, go to Library > Playback Options > Repeats and activate Play repeats after D.S./D.C. jump.

In this case, I am not concerned with playback; I just wanted to find the best way of writing it down. So “Play 3 times, 3rd time al Fine“, it is! For future situations where I need playback, the rest of your description seems to be a great solution. Thanks again….
