I’ve tried unsuccessfully to find this both in the Dorico documentation and in this forum. It often happens that several parts have music in the same rhythmic values but with different pitches. A particularly useful and time-saving function in Finale is to be able to copy a selection of notes to another staff and then to repitch the notes in the second part without changing their note values. Is there a similar function in Dorico?
Yes, there is: it’s called Lock to Durations, and you use it by copying the music to another staff, then double-clicking to show the caret at the start of the copied passage, then hit L to engage the lock (the padlock icon in the toolbox on the left-hand side), and then off you go. Hit L to disengage the lock when you’re done.
