I upgraded to Dorico Elements 6 recently. I’m a bit disappointed that Repeat Markers > Replay Repeats still doesn’t work. Is there any plan to address this?
While it’s true that Dorico does not correctly playback a repeat structure like this when the repeat marker has the Replay repeats property activated…
…the development team is aware of this and will eventually commit the resources to fix it. In the meantime, correct playback can be achieved by selecting the first ending bracket in engrave mode and setting the following properties:
- No. times played to 3
- Times played for segment to 1,3
- Custom text to 1.
Thank you for the workaround, John.
Steinberg could at least mention this in the documentation.
Sometimes @johnkprice gets there first. ![]()
(Thank goodness for John’s knowledge and creativity.)
Not working for me yet - I’m getting the first ending 3 times total after the DS, I want 2…
I’m looking for DS, 1st, :||, 2nd, coda
How should the second ending bracket Properties read?
Should Library>Playback Options>Repeats>Play Repeats after DS/DC jump also be checked? (mine is)
Also, I had Segment Duration active with a number I didn’t enter. Should that be active, or no?
Please upload your Dorico project along with a description of the repeat structure you want. You can delete all of the notes in your project before uploading it if you wish.
Works for me with a new project, following @johnkprice 's instructions.
I believe that “Segment Duration” indicates the length, in beats, of the ending itself. Dorico populates this field based on the number of bars/beats in the ending.
Ah, I confused myself… the form was indeed correct - I had an error in Suppress on Passes in mockup solo parts…
My apologies…
