Request for "Ideas Hub" type of feature

For a couple months I’ve been thinking that some type of “library” that contained various small sketches/motifs/rhythms that you could add to as needed, and was always kept the same database of ideas throughout all your projects would be a really cool feature. Specifically bass lines or drum grooves that could be considered “standardized” would be in this library that you could use to expedite fleshing out your charts.

Lo and behold, during some random browsing, I ran across the “Ideas Hub” feature across the Sib website that is pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I hope the dev team would consider this as a feature request. I don’t even think the idea behind it needs to be reimagined or anything, just a basic library that you can add to and always have available to pull up (and not reenter everytime you start a new piece) would be extremely valuable in my opinion. (I’ve seen the threads mentioning using Flows and “scratch” players for this. I have used scratch players to jot some notes down that pertain to a specific piece, but the library request would serve a much different and more streamlined use-case IMO.)

Thanks!
Ryan

Don’t forget that you can import any flow from any other project into your current project; so there’s nothing to stop you keeping a document with flows of sketch ideas, and then import them.

I’m aware of being able to do this, but this feels more like a workaround than a “library” or database of ideas of sorts that you can access at anytime without having to open up/import separate flows or files.

While I actually like this idea, understanding all the variables makes my head spin. Think of the plethora of settings that come into play. MIDI might be a logical choice, I think. This way the data you import can fit nicely into the layout/notation options already established in the current flow.

Yeah, maybe something like this could pull from a standard/basic notation layout/notation Library template and adjust once pulled into the staves? I also know there might be playback issues. Maybe for just auditioning it could forgo the VST that may be set up and use the old-school midi voices. The Sib feature I’ve seen looks exactly like I was thinking something like this would be. Doesn’t seem that different from something like the Loops Libraries/Browser in Logic Pro either, but instead of audio files the clips are the short notated snippets.
