Rest not showing up

Hi all,

In the attached file, the rest for Flute II in bar 4 does not show up in condensed view:

Galley view:

How to solve this?

rest problem.dorico (1.2 MB)

This Notation Option? Perhaps in a condensing change.

Jesper

I’m not sure what is causing it, but when I opened Notation Options and clicked on Reset to Factory, I got this:

Also, in Library Manager:

Try changing the Mid-phrase unison approach to Allow mid-phrase unisons.

True, but I would like to have nothing for fl.1 and rest+dotted half for fl.2 with the 2. indicator. So I unfortunately cannot use that option.

Anyway, the rest of the 2nd player should never be hidden no matter what that setting is set to, right?

Yay! That did it. But why? I really do not see the logic behind. Anyway, thanks!

Follow up question to this.
Later in the piece, same thing, but this time the rest shows without further ado. Anyway – the 2nd horn goes to bass clef and back:

And in page view, condensing on:

Is there an official way to show the bass clef for the 2nd horn?

You can duplicate the clefs change to Horn 1, and then make them transparent.

Edit: Instead of making them transparent, you can hide them locally in the part.

Ah, very good, thank you!
Hiding the clefs also does not break the multibar rest if there is one.
