After entering some guitar hits, I got rid of most of the extra rests by defining voice ends, but one seems to escape management.
How can I find where this is coming from and get rid of it? (next to the bar # 103)
Can you attach a project with just that part?
A handy way to check is to start deleting earlier bars and see if/when the rest changes.
Other voices were ended in the previous bar. Because the last note is in another voice, it appears it insists on showing a rest.
Here’s another example… this is the very first bar of the piece, and all there is is triplets - and when I expand into single staves, there is no content on any other line. I can’t get rid of this quarter rest now.
Try activating Voice Colors and see if that sheds any light.
Yes, that enabled me to select and delete that rest! Thank you.
Still haven’t sorted the other yet. I get unexplained results when defining a voice end. If it doesn’t like what I did, it won’t give me access to the settings again.
What were the ends/begins voice properties of the notes immediately before or after the rest?
I learned there’s a menu item Edit>Remove Rests. My Finale Brain was searching “Hide rests.” Remove rests works, and Voice Colors really helps to isolate where they are and therefore how to select them.
