Retrieving Lost Music

So I have been jumping between the iPad version of Dorico and my laptop and save my file to iCloud. The last two days I have been primarily using my laptop, and I did some writing for a few hours this morning and saved the file. However, today I went to open it on my iPad and it had not updated with the newest parts I’ve written. Because the iPad has an auto save function, I can now no longer see the new things I have written on my computer either, effectively erasing all of my work and starting me over from two days ago. Is there anyway I can get my progress back? Is there a way to disable auto save and allow me to savage myself so this doesn’t happen again? This is incredible frustrating.

Is your laptop a Mac? If it is, Time Machine May help you to restore earlier versions if they were saved on the laptop.

some cloud services support file versioning - I don’t know about iCloud.

It is a Mac, but unfortunately I did not have Time Machine already set up. That is definitely going to be something I use moving forward. Today I did the same thing and the iPad version of it erased everything again, but luckily I have made a backup saved just to the laptop.

You should be able to retrieve deleted files and earlier versions on the iCloud website.
