Retroactively change the split point of a selection of imported grand staff MIDI

When I import MIDI for a grand staff, I usually pick “fixed split point” because unfortunately all other options give messy and unpredictable results.

Luckily, a fixed split point is usually the correct choice locally, but in some pieces the range moves around, and subsequently, it would be ideal to select a different fixed split point for different parts of the piece.

This is also true for quantization - where you have the handy “requantize” feature which I frequently used. Is there anything similar for “re-splitting voices”? I think that could be invaluable to speed up the MIDI > sheet music process which I usually rely on heavily.

Otherwise, is there any workflow that can help with this besides manually selecting notes and clicking Alt+N/M?

I’ve been saying for the past two years that Dorico desperately needs such a function.
In the meanwhile, filter top or bottom notes and use move up/down to next staff to manually clean it up.

For split point selections, you may find it quicker to do a marquee selection in the key editor before alt-N/M.
