I am trying to do a mid-side recording and was wondering if it is possible to duplicate a channel and then reverse the polarity? Many thanks!
Yes, you must insert an effect called Phaseinverter in the track.
That is a very good way to investigate how different frequencies sound: if you duplicate a track and invert the phase on the copy, without panning, you will not hear sound. But then you insert a parametric eq in one of the channels and adjust a high Q and change the central frequency. You will hear just sounds which contain this frequency.
