Hi,
I’m writing a lead sheet and need to place some rhythm slashes in small size font above the stave. How do I do this please?
Thanks
Darren
With stems? Create a slash voice for them and scale to cue.
You can input notes into multiple slash voices; for example, if you want to indicate a precise rhythm without specifying pitches. By default, the first slash voice is up-stem, but you can add extra slash voices both with and without stems, and switch...
Thanks - I have made them into cues, but how do I get them above the stave?
Another way would be to use a special staff to write the kicks, and then cue them into the staff where you want them, like so :
Well, after some experimentation, here’s my recipe:
Create a new Player, assign generic “Treble Staff” instrument.
1b. Enable Cues for Full Score layout (in case of simple leadsheet).
Create a cue in the staff where you want the hints to appear, you can also have the cue span the entire flow!
Create desired kicks in the special cue source staff. You can even change noteheads for a slash appearance and hide rests, and then choose rhythmic cue. Adjust distance from staff as needed.
Hide or rena…
Hmmm…hopefully this feature can be implanted in future versions. As much as I appreciate the help, I’m not convinced by any of these solutions. Sincerely, Darren
Can you describe what your ideal method would be?
