Rhythmic notation above staff

Hello,

I am using Dorico pro 4 and I need to indicate the rhythmic values of some notes, because the piece has many harmonics.
I have been looking for ways on how to do it and reading very similar posts in this forum, but I can’t get the result I want.

I simply want to indicate the rhythmic value of some (not all) notes and do it with a small size and in brackets.

I think it is possible, but I still can’t find a solution.
If anyone knows how to do it, please let me know.

Thank you!

Create a dummy player in Setup mode, add notes at the desired location(s) in Write mode, add cue notes in the other players’ systems (Shift-U, then type the name of the dummy player/instrument). With the cue selected, in the bottom panel activate “rhythmic cue”.

It’s not in brackets; I guess you can add these as system text and move them into position in Engrave mode.

the cue popover is shift-U, shift-Q are the Qord-symbols.

Sorry, mistake corrected.

I’d use a line of lyrics, typeset in Dan Kreider’s eminently useful MusGylphs font, and set to appear above the staff.

I spoke to some colleagues and they told me the easiest option is to use shift-x>right click>insert music text. But thank you all for the reply!
