My initial goal was to digitize vinyl records and audio cassettes onto CD.
I’ve just finished the free trial of WaveLab Pro, which met my needs perfectly.
Personally, I find the price too high for personal use.
I looked into WaveLab Elements, but it doesn’t quite meet my requirements.
I think I’ll wait for Steinberg to offer a discount on that product.
There might be capabilities or alternative approaches that folks here can suggest. But without understand how Elements is lacking it’s hard to ID them.

I have consulted the WaveLab Elements user manual and noted the following:
Audio Editor
a) Basic error correction tool.
b) Missing start and end markers (red) and abstraction markers (purple).
c) Missing smart cutting tool based on markers.
Audio Montage
a) Missing CD template.
b) Simplified album menu (missing Album Wizard and simplified CD management).
