Hi there.I’m new to cubase and i have a RODE NT USB microphone. I would like how to configure Cubase to record from this microphone in a track. I see it in the ASIO controller, but I can’t record. Thanks for your answer
Hi and welcome to the forum,
- Select the USB microphone as the ASIO Device.
- In the Studio > Audio Connections > Inputs add a Mono Bus and select the USB microphone as the Device Port.
- Add an Audio track, set it to Mono and select the Mono In 1 as the Input.
- Enable Record (and Monitor, if you want to hear the signal thru Cubase) and start Recording.
You may struggle to hear while recording in Cubase if using a usb microphone as you will need a seperate output interface. If you are on Mac you can use the aggregate interface, on pc then you would need asio4all.
I never recommend a usb microphone to anyone for this very reason.
Hi,
You can follow this article.
Some USB microphones have a headphones output. Then you can use it.
Thanks, mate:but this article is for Windows users.I have a IMac
Hi,
On Mac, create an Aggregate Device, please.
No create it on the Mac. Then select that device as your audio device in Cubase
Thanks a lot!!.I think it works. How can I hear the audio? To hear the beginning of recording?I’m a dummy!

Hi,
If you want to hear the audio while recording, enable the Monitor button on the track (the orange speaker). Once you record it and you want to hear it, disable the Monitor button on the track.
Thanks a lot. And to hear what is recorded…how do I move the cursor to the beginning of the track?
A couple options
click in ruler
click stop on the transport once to stop and again to rtz (or it’s key command equivalent 0 if you have a numpad on your keyboard)
Hi,
You can use the Transport Panel. Or use the , Key Command.
Please, watch some Cubase beginner video tutorials.
