Rogue Amoeba Loopback not found in Cubase 14

Hi,

I wanted to record computer sound on Cubase 14. I have a device on Loopback by Rogue Amoeba, but it was not on the list of Audio connections. It works on Logic Pro. SoundFlower 64ch is still an option.

I reached out to Rogue Amoeba, the problem is not in that end.

Is there a reason or even better a solution?

Thanks!

Hey there - I added a Loopback for Passthrough to Chan 1&2 to my UAD Monitor 1&2 and it immediately showed up when I opened Cubase:

Even if I re-select my UAD, I can go into Audio Setup and choose the new loopback device:

Sometimes a new Loopback virtual device won’t update the name in Core Audio, so I always turn the new device off and back on again, that way it has the new name after renaming the device. So the device should be there.

Now, insofar are what you’re wanting to do, you can def do that if you change your system audio to the new device and then pass-through from that new device into an input channel on your audio device. However, it may be easier and even “better” to use Audio Hijack instead. You can create wee projects and record the audio in whatever format you want from any source you want and you don’t have to muck about with routing in Loopback. Grab as many takes as you want, and then import the audio file from your Audio Hijack project folder.

That’s how’d I’d do it, anyway - but it depends. If I’m recording a ScreenFlow and I want to use my studio mics and I want to use zero-latency from my UAD by way of cue routing, then I’ll use Loopback for that (depending). Just some thoughts.
