Roland Fantom 08/07/06 midi remote script

Hello Friends,

maybe some of you could use this?!
The possibilities of using the Fantom as a MIDI controller are unfortunately limited, but not too bad either.
I created the script for my Fantom 08, but it should also work with the 07 and 06.
After importing the script, you can check the assignments in the MIDI remote window.

There are three configurations:

  • Default affects the selected track.
  • Mixer is for the mix console (unfortunately only tracks 1-8).
  • Quick Controls is self-explanatory.

If something doesn’t work, it’s either due to the Fantom driver (I’m using Ver. 1.0.0 for macOS 11/12), the wrong MIDI input, or because the MIDI CC values of my Fantom don’t match yours. I used the default settings of the Fantom.

You can check this by looking at the settings in the MIDI remote editor mode and comparing them with the CC value displayed on the Fantom’s screen when moving the corresponding controller.

On the Fantom, you should set up an empty scene for Cubase.
To do this, hold Shift in the selected scene while pressing the first button in the Zone/Select area.
If the button changes from red to green, it’s set up correctly.
Additionally, you need to set the Pad Mode of the trigger pads on the Fantom to Note Pad.

It’s best to save this scene and name it accordingly in Cubase.
I used the very last scene in my Fantom for this.

It works great for me! You can adjust the assignments if my settings don’t suit you.

Have fun with it, and let me know if it works for you too!
