Roman numerals as Flow numbers

I’m pretty sure the answer is already somewhere here, but I honestly cannot find it, and it’s not that I haven’t tried: How Can I set my Flow numbers to be Roman Capitals Project-wide, so everywhere, not just by hand in the templates (I know how to do that) but also in the automaticcaly genated Flow headings all over the score. Is that possible? Thanks in advance!

I don’t think it’s possible - I just type Roman numerals by hand, and hide the flow number.

I have never tried, but there is a token:

{@flowNumberRomanUpper@}

Edit: it works :slight_smile:

OMG thanks, that is really cool!

Yes, I used that token already. Strange that it’s possible to use that token, but not to implement it everywhere. Really odd. How can I hide the flow number, Project-wide?

Remove it from the Page Template.

What do you mean by everywhere? If you put it in a Page Pemplate or in the Flow Heading Template, you’ll just have to do it once.

Where is the Flow Heading Template?

Waaaauw Janus, thank you! I never was aware of that piece of gear, really! This is gonna change things, thank a lot!

About the “Steinberg Help”, by the way:
I really don’t understand this kind of “help”:

There no information how to do it, or is it just me? They just say it is possible, but no information whatsoever about how.

Firstly, that’s very old – it’s from Dorico version 2. When you’re using a search engine to look for help, adding the current version number to your search query will help a lot, e.g. “dorico 6 flow heading” instead of just “dorico flow heading”.

Here is the most recent:

And here is the (very long!) list of available tokens in Dorico 6.

I am really very sorry, but that doesn’t work that way for me. I have a very rare en extreme form of ADHD, when I see two words I already get confused, and I sometimes can’t find things that are right before my nose. I’ll try to keep that in mind, searching with version number, thanks. And I know I can be annoying, therefor I’m really greatful that people take the time to help me, also when I ask strange and uncomprehandeble questions. I still LOVE Dorico, thanks for creating it. I’m unable to work with any software, except Dorico. I’m dead serious.

If you want to be sure you are accessing the best version of the manual for your installed version, use Help>Dorico Help. This opens the correct web version, which you can search.

Roel,
Are you aware that Dorico itself displays a list of available tokens when you are editing a text frame? Within this list, you will also be presented with the
Flow Info>Flow Number (Roman, Upper-case) option:

To insert a token, right-click in the text frame and choose the required token from the context menu.

{@flownumberromanupper@}
