Hi,
I am a long time Cubase user but a bit confused by the parameter wheels in RoomWorks (green highlighted ones in pic attached).
For the input filters, in current settings in the pic, does it mean that for LOW 176hz and below are filter out/cut? and for HIGH that everything above 5754hz is cut? If so, the blue colour dial in seems counter-intuitive. e.g. for LOW the blue would indicate frequencies that are cut, while for HIGH the blue would indicates frequencies included.
Same with the damping filter, how would you interpret the settings in the pic attached?
Thanks
Haba
Hi!
The Input Filters section of RoomWorks applies a gentle shelf filter to the audio input before it hits the reverb algorithm. The Low and High gain knobs control how aggressive this filter will be. This isn’t a low/high pass filter (in other words it’s not a proper “cut”, technically), so don’t hesitate to use extremely low gain values here.
The Damping section controls how the reverb decays over time. In real life, bass and treble decay quicker than the mid frequencies. You can emulate that by setting the level knobs to a value below 100%.
The Envelope section functions like a Gate. You should set the amount knob to 0% if you’re looking for a somewhat realistic sound, but try using unrealistic Reverb Character or Damping values and then taming them using the Envelope section. You might run into some interesting results.
