Routing Issue With Duplicated Group Channels

I am not sure if this is a known issue, at least I couldn’t find anything in the forum. Not a big problem, but maybe good to know to avoid the “duplicate” function on group channels.

  • Create empty project
  • Add two audio tracks (“Audio 1” and “Audio 2”)
  • Add a Group Channel (“Group 1”)
  • Duplicate “Group 1” (new Group Channel appears: “Copy of Group 1”)
  • Route “Audio 1” output to “Copy of Group 1”

everything works as expected - but now:

  • Try to set input of “Audio 2” to “Copy of Group 1”:
  • Problem: There is no “Copy of Group 1” in the input menu list, but instead “Group 1” appears twice - both of them are selected.
  • recording audio from “Audio 1” through the duplicated Group channel to “Audio 2” isn’t possible (the buss is dead).

workaround: create new Group Channel and copy Channel Settings instead.

I’ve tested in Cubase 6.5.4 (x64 and x32) on MacOsX 10.6.8. - please reproduce on other systems…

Confirm, the same problem has Nuendo 5 too.

It has been fixed in the Cubase 7 (and Nuendo 6 too).
