The end of eLicencer.
I have steinberg activation manager on my windows computer as well as download assistance as well as steinberg library manager. I do have products on my eLicenser and most of my products show in the steinberg activation manager. Can i delete the eLicenser and will Cubase 13 still run with out the eLicenser? I do know that some of my products that are not in my steinberg activation manager will be lost! I would like to run my Cubase 13 with out the USB eLicenser . How can I do this some help would be great.
Thank you.
Hello and welcome.
As far as I know the software called “eLicenser Control Center” will automatically be installed even nowadays. So if you delete it, it will come back on the next occassion. We will see what will happen next year when Steinberg is going to switch off the server. My advice is to simply ignore it for now.
For anything else just remove your USB dongle from the computer and run Cubase 13.
Hi,
There is no need to delete the eLicenser.
If you unplug your USB-eLicenser, the licenses stored on it, will be not reachable anymore. But if you will not use these products, it’s not a problem. If you have some licenses stored in the Soft-eLicenser, you can just ignore them.
You can also uninstall eLicenser Control Center, but it will become installed again automatically with every start of Steinberg Download Assistant. Therefore it doesn’t make much sense to uninstall the eLCC at this moment. The only reason to do so is kind of proof of concept, that everything will work at your system after switching the eLCC server off.
Thank you.
