Safe to delete older project version .cpr files?

So I am using Nuendo 14, so I really mean .npr files, but I assume its the same for Cubase too.

If I make New Version of a project by going to File > Save New Version, it automatically creates a new .npr file with a 01 added to the end of the name. For example, project-01. If I create another version from there, project-02, and so forth.

My question is, is it safe once I’m at, say, project-04, to delete 01-03?

I’m also curious because if I were to go to the Pool and delete all unused files, if those files were still used in previous versions, does it still delete them?

This is an easy one:
YES.
I do it all the time. Don’t go mad and delete all of them, though, just in case! I usually keep the last 2.

I’m going to say yea to this one, too.
