Same pc, different reharsal rooms (with different master keyboards)

Imagine your project ,with several layers each controlled by ,let’s put, three master keyboards, say 1) M-Audio Oxygen 2) Roland A88 3) CME UF 70 .

This happens in your home studio. Then you must go reharsing with your bandmates in a reharsal room well equipped with three nice master keyboards BUT different than yours..

Is it possible to manage this in a fast , simple way , other than reassigning ONE BY ONE each layer to the new master keyboards’ setup ?

In my old, former VST host , Cantabile , it was possible to set each layer to ‘Any MIDI input’ and then the trick was to set a different MIDI OUT channel for each keyboard and then to set each layer to receive one of the (in my case ) 3 MIDI channels ..

Assign their inputs to the same Virtual MIDI input in Connections and use that as input to the layer.

Or just chain them together using MIDI thru’ (or use wireless MIDI like CME WIDI) before they even get to VSTL.

I prefer the CME WIDI method. It’s the easiest way with VSTL to have a stable MIDI connection without need of reconfiguration.

Just reassign the inputs in Devices/Connections once. It will also remember that if you save and use the same project in your different setups, once it learned the connections (stored with the project).
