Sample Drag & Drop from Media Bay to Third Party Plugins stopped working in Cubase 14

I have just realized that drag & drop from the Media Bay to third party plugin samplers like Serato Sampler stopped working in Cubase 14. It is still working to drag and drop to Steinberg plugins like Padshop.

I have Cubase 13 still installed on the same Machine and there it works.

Are these by any chance VST2 plugins? In that case you need to activate VST2 support in the Plugin Manager (Studio/VST-Plugin Manager, check the tiny little box called VST 2 way down below) because VST2s are no longer supported in C14.

no these are not VST2 plugins  I’ve tested this on a M1 Mac with Sonoma and on a M3 Mac with Sequouia with the same results.

  • You cannot drag a user .WAV sample from the Media Bay to e.g. Serato Sample or any of the Arturia Samplers in Cubase 14 Pro.

  • You can drag a user .WAV sample from the Media Bay to e.g. Serato Sample or any of the Arturia Samplers in Cubase 13 Pro.

@Reco29 I assume you don’t have this problem if you suggest checking for VST2 plugins? Can you try on your system? Are you on mac or Windows?

Thanks

Update

The new Cubase Pro 14.0.10 Update seems to fix this issue at least for Arturia samplers, Algonaut Atlas, Amigo Sampler and some others.

For Serato Sample this is still true:

  • You cannot drag a user .WAV sample from the Media Bay to Serato Sample in Cubase 14 Pro.
  • You can drag a user .WAV sample from the Media Bay to Serato Sample in Cubase 13 Pro

Hi @HONEYHILL ,
unfortunately I’m on a PC so I cannot check here.
At least the issue is partially fixed by the new update. Maybe someone else has an idea for the remaining issues.
