The first thing I would do is to assign key commands to certain zoom commands.
Here are mine e.g.
I am using the the Alt+{number} and Alt+S commands the most. Also Undo Zoom is a godsend.
Note that some of the zoom commands use the keys G and H. This is ok for an old Cubase fart like myself because Cubase used those keys since 1989 and I actually try to zoom every app and OS with G and H but you might want to change them to something that you prefer.
The rest I usually do with the mouse wheel (Ctrl/Cmd + mouse wheel and Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + mouse wheel).
There are other methods, so it is just an example but it allows me to navigate the project rather quickly. There are also visibility presets that one can use. I like how this guy uses his Cubase:
