I have been using Cubase since 2001 and used a Sampler Track today for the first time. I copied the project to another workstation - it’s exactly the described behaviour. Renaming the preferences folders did not help, or I got it wrong. I am on Windows and renamed the Cubase folders under %appdata%/Steinberg.
This cannot be so hard to fix!!
