Sampler track Bug in 15.0.40- Cannot add new samples until project is resaved

Tried many of my current projects and sampler tracks dont allow me to add new samples in to existing sampler tracks. I have to resave the projct and reopen it to be able to add/change samples.

Ive reverted to 15.0.30- everything works normally

The project version is updated when you open an older project in a newer version of Cubase and save it. It’s generally a good idea to make sure the project version matches the Cubase version before you start working on it.:man_shrugging:

Can confirm. Reverting to 15.0.3 too. I can’t change samples even after resaving, saving as a new file, restarting Cubase. Simply not possible anymore.

I would recommend to stay with 15.0.40 fixed several Sampler Track issues, it is likely to be expected to resave a project. Unless you mean every time?

Which issues were fixed?- the release notes have no mention of sampler track fixes. Thanks

I can’t find anything being mentioned about the Sampler in the release notes.

Are there undocumented fixes?

Yes, they fixed replacing missing samples and the undo bug in audio pool (all in the right folder now), duplicating sampler track bug.

This is a fix from 15.0.3

I didn’t have any issues with Sampler Track in 15.0.3 anymore (besides much higher CPU usage when the Sampler Track window is open - that sample rendering must be some top-notch tech, I assume :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: )

Could someone post a step-by-step description on how to reproduce this one?
And perhaps share a simple project file if possible? I am unable to reproduce this here on macOS 27.2.

Actually the step to reproduce this is open an existing project from 15.0.30 and try to drag and drop an new sample from the browser or the favourites (also tried hot swap) and it refuses to change the sample in the sample track. After you save the project and reopen it works normally.- its the same principle as the missing master track in the mixer bug- it works normally after resave.

additional info- I always use one shot set and setting lock on. This started happening in 15.0.40.

Oh. I see your on MacOs. Im on win11 so maybe its the reason it doesnt work for you after saving.
