Sans serif music text font

If there is somebody who is capable to make a sans serif music text font. I’m in the market. I really would like to have a chord symbol that looks something like this. I only need the flat and the sharp.

Unless I’m mistaken, b and # do not have Alt+number shortcuts. sor perhaps:
Either you edit a font but the problem is then to enter “Bb” so you would have to place the “flat” on a different key than B

Otherwise, at the moment shift+X and the font will bravura like this gif: Once a symbol is entered, copying and pasting and changing the name of the agreement goes quite quickly
font

or I just read my own help book and see that Daniel informed that now we can write unidoce in text and convert it with Alt+x:
So you can can write for the “bémol” in the text the unicode: 266D than Alt+x to convert it in text (it work)
for the # the unicode is:266F

Thanks @Dup , point is that I would like to have a really good sans serif bemol that I can use in the settings for Chord symbols and use the chords popover. It is just for the looks.:grinning:

What we see in that GIF is a fallback font for the A and 7, since Bravura and Bravura Text don’t have those characters. It’s not ideal to rely on a fallback font because it will differ depending on the OS.

Sorry, I did not understand.
If I read my notes, the chords symbol is combinaison of several fonts:for the b and # the fonts used is défined by the “Chords Symbols Music Text Font” and by default : Bravura text.
So why not to edit your two characters of this font with FontCreator from High-Logic? you can use it 30-day for free (sory my trial period is finished).I remember it was eays with copy and paste or by moving the vectors.

Yes I think I will take a look to some fontsoftware, nice for a rainy day in the summer.

@Maarten_Kruijswijk , just a point of forum history I recalled: if you decide to work up your own font symbol variants, there may be something in this thread from a few months back (started by @DanielMuzMurray, and with contributions from many, including the inimitable @FredGUnn — and I seem to recall you yourself were in on it) that might serve as a meaningful jumping-off point…?

Keep us posted on any font-mods you make, please, 'cause you know we’re always on the lookout for that perfect jazz chord font!

I responded to you before reading the message of @Mark_Johnson
So for my part I have always edited ttf fonts over time without problem…perhaps it is more complicated with SMUFL fonts even if we only want to modify a chart?! The specialists will tell us.

Sure I will!

Problaby it was better to just post in that thread instead of starting a new one.

I think it’s fine. I always appreciate when thread posts have clear identifying titles. Helps when searching!

I went to a friend who has a font editor and Dorico: I just twisted a few characters to find which ones were used. So it seems pretty easy to me.
As soon as I have some time to return to his place, I will make a new ttf font with the characters:
b: ED60
natural: Ed61
#: Ed62

Ok I downloaded FontCreator and made two Glyphs a Flat and a Sharp. I made a font of it. Then in Dorico I replaced in the Chord Editor the in one chord the flat and one chord the sharp for the glyphs I made. Dorico will change that then in all chords. So now I have this. What do you think? I think I like it, maybe the flat a bit bolder.

Somehow them being taller than the chord root (slightly for sharps, notably for flats) bothers my eye.

You?

Hm, I kind of like it but here with smaller flats and sharps. Problaby better, I only think about bad light situations and then the bigger ones are maybe better.

Now the sharps look smaller than the chord roots. Are my eyes playing tricks…? :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Is it possible to make the flats any bolder?

No :grinning:

Now maybe a bit to bold. It is amazing how small the details are.

I think I like the boldness. To my eyes the sharps looks good. Is there a way to increase the “hoop” part of the flat?

Indeed!

Hm, it is getting better, but I’m not there yet. So far for today. Here the latest.

I like this one the most.
