Saving an existing page as template

This happens to me all the time: I tweak frames and fonts on the page itself, thus making it different than the template. With something like a title page, it will be a lot of work to recreate it as a template.

Is there an easy way to save my beautiful page as a template?

No, sorry.

:frowning:

Is there at least a way to copy-paste frames over? I’m seeing something about that in the manual but I can’t get it to work.

Making a page template from an existing page override is a feature we plan to add in future, but as Dan says, I’m afraid it’s not currently possible.

You can’t copy frames from an overridden page to a page template either, I’m sorry to say.

Just wanted to chime in to add my vote for this too! I have an awesome page that I wanted to copy across to make a template and found this post. I hope it’s in the pipeline.

I’d like it, too. Hope it’s not too far off.

I’d love to see this as well!

Hi, chiming in on this - would be great to save page overrides as new template, it’s so easily done to start tweaking the first page of a project, then realise you’ll want those tweaks in subsequent parts or pages, and wish you’d created a new template in the first place…

This has already been suggested before. Of course, this would greatly streamline the workflow. Let’s hope it makes its way in the Team’s plans (or that they come out with a great solution) :crossed_fingers:
