Saving control room inserts with project

Can some one explain why saving control room inserts only works randomly? I thought it was a bug but when I looked it up, cubase site states:

“You can save the insert slots for Cue, Monitor and Control Room channels by saving a preset on the Control Room tab of the Audio Connections window. This is useful, as they are not saved with the project.”

Why is that? Creates redundant work to reinsert Sonarworks and other monitoring plugins. Also it seems to save on some sessions and then disappears. So its not consistent. Thoughts?

it should stay in place all the time

so it does not need to be saved with the project

I think its a bug because Sometimes I open up a project and the plugins are there. Other times it’s as if I did not insert them at all. Very frustrating.
