Sorry if this has been asked and answered before. I cannot find the answer anywhere.
I am taking composition lessons, and using Cubase to do the actual composing. The plan is to move to Dorico (which I am very proficient using), to tidy up the score and parts.
I am starting with a Sax quartet, per my teacher’s request.
I added a soprano sax, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, and Baritone Sax. In the score editor, The Bari Sax is being named Alto Sax II. However, the track name says Bari Sax, and the instrument chosen is a Bari Sax sound.
Also, the score editor is failing to show the notes that I have entered into the Bari Sax.
Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

It tries to determine what instrument it might be from parsing the track name but it doesn’t always get it right. It obviously realized that Sax was Saxophone but didn’t realize that Bari was Baritone (this abbreviation is so common they should look at this). In the meantime, you should manually correct the instrument. That’s in the Score menu, in Instrument Settings. Change the Instrument Type there.
Thank you! I got the name fixed, but there is no music?
Any thoughts on that?
Edit: It must have been considered out of range. Moving it up 2 octaves fixed it.

Some sample libraries remap the instrument from its normal sounding range to a different range (more central) for easy playability on smaller MIDI controllers. In case this affects the instruments you use, the trick is to shift the notes into the right octave so the notation looks correct, and then use an expression map with a single slot to transpose the sound so it sounds correct (by -24 or -12 or 12 or 24 semitones depending).
