In Finale, I used to have templates saved for various kinds of scores: jazz quartet, big band, vocal/horns (or strings)/rhythm, woodwind quintet, scores for 4, 5, or 6 unspecified instruments, etc. I could save time by simply opening a pre-formatted empty score. Is there someplace where I can download various formatted empty scores for Dorico %?
Notation Central sells quite high quality templates (Scoring Express). You could try that
For a real newbie is there a step by step for a simple template layout? In my previous (now defunct) software creating a custom template was a snap. I’m not looking to engrave, just create a template for the same 8-10 instruments for a regular gig. It should be something one could set up in 5 minutes. Thanks for hearing me lament, and any tip appreciated!
It should be as simple as… Create a new file containing your instruments. Then File>Save as project template
