Here’s an overview of what’s in Dorico 6!
Well done to you and to @pianoleo for jamming everything in to it!
Actually, there’s so much that I still missed some bits!
It’s about 6000 words…!!!
I’m blown away by this update. It’s a massive amount of good stuff.
The Steinberg teams are killing it lately. No matter whether Dorico, Cubase or HALion. Love the fill view and proofreading. Can’t wait to work with this.
Fill view on two stacked 34" ultrawide displays lovely except that i want this to be a single display now.
@benwiggy Thank you for this review!
Just a question, I read this:
Properties and selections
A personal favorite. Previously, when you selected more than one type of object, you would only see the properties that were common to all of them in the lower panel. This was invariably very few. Now, there’s an application preference to show all the available properties for all the selected objects! (Under Preferences > Note Input and Editing > Properties.)
And I don’t find this Properties section here:
Oops sorry, I’m just so excited I’m going too fast!
Down, about half way
When –this morning– I got the email from ScoringNotes about the new release of D6, I couldn’t resist buying it right away! I didn’t even bothered reading the new v6 details as I will do later haha! That is because I trust on the Dorico Team and the amazing Dorico software.
Thanks a bunch, Ben, for your review! And a huge shoutout to Daniel and his team for all their hard work.
Thank you very much for this review!
If I may compliment @benwiggy on outdoing himself once again on this comprehensive review of Dorico 6, ably assisted in the chord symbols area by @pianoleo. Indeed, there’s so much to cover, but Ben managed to cover it well so that readers can have another angle on this massive release. We all (I think) had some fun with it, which is good, because music notation software is an inherently enjoyable endeavor. No, I am not being sarcastic!
Stay tuned on Saturday morning for the Scoring Notes podcast episode with @dspreadbury, where we’ll have more of a conversation about the development of Dorico 6 and explore a few of the marquee features more deeply.
I wont say I was “devastated” when the podcast went from weekly to occasionally, but I was sad in any case; it’s long been my Saturday morning mowing companion. I really look forward to listening to this interview; your long-form interviews with developers are some of the best.
Thank you! We’re still trying to adhere to the first Saturday of the month schedule, so you can align your landscaping chores accordingly
