Just wanted to check if the Preference - Editing - Project & MixConsole > Scrolling: Disable Mouse Wheel for Parameter Change is still broken in C14. I am on C13 and it is not working there i.e. if the option is enabled then scrolling with the cursor located within the fader section of the mixer still moves the fader. It works if the cursor is located in a send section of the mixer for example but this is NOT THE MAIN PROBLEM. The problem is inadvertently destroying your mix by scrolling and moving the faders by mistake and then not realising the faders have been moved.
Why doesn’t Steinberg fix this so users have the option to turn it on or off. This has been a long bugbear for many Cubase users. Is it technically difficult to disable this for the fader section in the coding and that’s the reason for this being half implemented?
There are several high visibility threads about this issue on here, so this is clearly a major issue for the user base, including for myself.
Not that it seems to matter, but just in case it does, I’m adding another comment here to keep up the visibility of this to hopefully get this fixed soon!
I have seen the other threads but when Cubase came up with the Scrolling: Disable Mouse Wheel for Parameter Change preference recently everyone thought that Steinberg had finally listened to the userbase and solved the problem. Unfortunately our hopes were dashed when we realised it had been implemented in the most torturous and perverse way. You would have to think they’re either taking the piss or sadistic.
