Segno symbol in "dal Segno" statements

Is there a way to say “dal SEGNO al Coda” with SEGNO being the actual symbol itself?

I would like to do this, as I have multiple ‘segni’ in one flow. Dorico defaults to “dal S.S.” for a segno with two markers, etc, but I’ve never seen this style myself, and I doubt my players would understand it.

Alternative ways to deal with this situation are also welcome!

Check out this menu in Engraving Options for some settings to fiddle with:

Nice, thanks!

Works, although it doesn’t look fhantastic (see screen dumps), and it means I can’t be combined with “custom text”, which for other reasons is not great in my situation.

Is this what you want for the first S?

How have you seen this notated in the past?

If there’s only one Segno, I’m happy with just D.S., and D.S. looks rather ugly. But if there’s two segni, I don’t really like the look of D.S. for one and D.S.S. for the other. I’m not exactly sure what I’ve seen in the past, but probably different signs, which were included in the “Da ?” statement. Dorico just seems to repeat the sign for the second instance, which is Ok-ish, but doesn’t look great in the DSS statement (as shown).

How else would you know which segno to go back to? (It is a standard)
