Select which # direct output for track using PLE or other?

This question arises out of the unfortunate prerequisite to a Render operation that the FIRST OUTPUT must be the active one for there to be any audio in the result.

So I’m wondering if there is a method available to auto-select a # slot output so that I can build into my render macro that the 1st output will always be active prior to a render so that it works.

Yeah, that is so annoying. I almost always start rendering with an unwanted blank file.

I’m not at Cubase to check, but I don’t think there are any commands to enable specific DR slots. But the first slot is different as it is ‘shared’ with regular routing and there might be a command to enable/disable.

I worked out a solution I’m happy with.

Using “connect output” PLE operation I build the command to the specific output depending on the application: monitoring, recording, or rendering.

That way I just use the first slot and keep it always active. It just changes based on what I’m going to do.

Cool

Could you post a screenshot of that
