I often have the necessity to select a passage from the middle of a tied note. Till now I had to untie the note, select, and tie again. For very long tied chains this is very uncomfortable… I had the idea to change te method by inserting a bar where the selection begins (and ends, if necessary). The tie is broken only at that point and you can select the passage. After that, just make and undo, and you can paste the passage where you want:
