sending drum track data to an instrument track

can this be done!

example…

I am using superior drummer as my main drum sample vst but want to use the toms from an eastwest drum kit.

I want to be able to see all percussion instruments in one drum map… much like the old days where you could use several drum modules…

the problem is I can’t figure out how to do this.
I know I can assign different a midi output for the toms to ‘say’ midex 1 and assign midex 1 as the input to the eastwest vst … but there must be a better and simpler way to do this?

Don’t use ANY “instrument tracks”. You want to load your drum VIs into the instrument rack-once they’re, they become a selectable midi source on a note by note basis in the drum map. Output column where it defaults to “track”…click it, it will give you a drop down of every midi output and VI.
