Hi !
Is it possible to set the height of the rests for each voice (2 or 3)?

Do you mean moving the rests vertically?
In Engrave mode, select a rest and open the Properties panel (itâs in the lower zone of your screen, or press Ctrl/Cmd+8).
Activate the Rest position toggle and play around with the numbers to move the rest vertically.
I am looking for a way to globally configure the rest positions in a drum kit.
Specifically, I want the rests for the Bass Drum (Voice 2) to be systematically aligned on the Bass Drumâs staff line, and the rests for the Cymbals (Voice 1) to stay on the Cymbalâs line, without having to manually move them.
Is there a setting in âNotation Optionsâ or within the âEdit Percussion Kitâ dialog to force rests to stay on their respective instrumentâs line instead of merging or floating in the middle of the staff?
I would like the rests for Voice 1 (stems up) to appear specifically between the cymbal lines, and the rests for Voice 2 (stems down) to be systematically positioned on the F line (for the Bass Drum, snare and toms).
While Iâm at it, I would also like to add a Hi-Hat foot on beats 2 and 4. I want it to be audible during playback, but I need it to be completely hidden on the staff without affecting the spacing or the layout of the other instruments.
I want to make sure that hiding these notes doesnât create gaps in the rhythmic spacing of the other voices.
Hi @Jean-Patrick, here the result getting two Notation Options:
If you donât want the bar rests, you can select them and set their color Opacity(Alpha) to 0% (to avoid ledger lines you would need to change the Rest position of some of them):
Specifically, I would like to be able to define the default staff line for rests. For instance, I want to ensure that the eighth-note rest (half-rest) for a specific instrument always snaps to a chosen line (like the Bass Drum line) by default, rather than floating based on other voices.
This Notation Option could maybe help you (no manual spacing here)
Hiding noteheads/stems/ledger lines in Engrave Mode shouldnât affect the horizontal spacing. As for the rests, I explained here how to hide them without changing the spacing:
Thanks everyone!
This is what I think is the closest setting, but I would have liked more options without having to go through the properties.
Perhaps thereâs another option?

Câest peut-ĂȘtre possible mais je suis Ă court dâidĂ©es, lĂ !
It might be possible, but Iâm out of ideas at this point!
