Set Up Window Layout

Hello,

I cannot seem to add “PRE” to the Set up Windows Layout section.

I think I need to enable what options I have in the Set Up Windows Layout Section but don’t know where that is.

Please help. You can see from the picture that “Pre” is not located in this section. How do i get it to appear in the section so that I can put a check mark by it and then use the “PRE” section in the mixer window.

Hi,

can you please share which Cubase version you use? Since modulators are not displayed as well I assume it is not the Pro version, right? Maybe this is due to restrictions of the Cubase version you are on.

I use Cubase pro 14…….I do have Cubase 15 but haven’t opened it up yet. I know that in the past I have messed around with the parameters that show what windows are available in the mix window……but I think I have to reset those in another window, and that’s what I’m having a problem figuring out. By the way, I live in Las Vegas Nevada, USA……thanks for helping me.

I don’t think that this has something to do with this.

I would try two different things: Since you have the Pro version you could have opened any other version below Pro with Cubase 14 (Artist, AI etc). This would explain why Modulators and probably Pre don’t show up. If you open a blank project - do Modulators and Pre shop up in the Mixer Window 's setting dialog?

Another option that springs to mind: Your preferences are messed up. Could you try to start your project with prefererences disabled, please? ( Hold down Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-Alt/Opt while launching Cubase and select the option).

The selection in C14/C15 is made in sections. This is what the standard looks like in the PRO version:

Check the Cubase version using the “Help > About Cubase…” menu:

Hi Reco, I tried that and it didn’t work. Just to clarify, when go to the far upper right of my main project window (not the mix window) I see “SEE UP WINDOW LAYOUT” icon…(The cog icon) When I open that window the only items I see are “Channel, Left Zone, Status Line, Right Zone, Info Line, Overview, Lower Zone, and Transport”. I know that is correct.
Here’s the issue I’m having though. in Cubase 14, when i go to the Mixer Window I click on the “SET UP WINDOW LAYOUT” and when i click on the mixer window and open the cog icon all I see is Left Zone, meter Bridge, equilizer curve, hardware, routing, inserts, equilizer, strip, sends, quick controls, pictures, notepad, channel latency, and fader.

So, my main issue is i want to be able to add “PRE” so that i can adjust the gain on each channel. I’d like to be able to pull the gain down on each channel by 6 to 10 DB

How do I adjust the gain? I used to be able to see the gain setting in my mixer window, and now it’s gone….

Hi Reco,

That’s exactly the template I’m looking for. And Yes, i can get to that template, but I don’t have “Pre” in my template or modulators…..so, I have to figure out how to get those enabled into my cubase……I’ll look into the help section, and thanks for your help.

The screenshot from your initial post is not from Cubase Pro 14 but from Cubase Artist 15 or a smaller edition.
It might be more helpful to post screenshots from the Cubase that you are using.

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. The screen shot is from Cubase 14. I’ve been a Cubase user for 25 years, so for the most part, I know what I’m doing. I just cannot seem to get that parameter with the screen shot to include PRE- and a few other paramenters. I really believe that it’s part of another window that enables all of those, but I just cannot for my life find it. but, it is cubase 14 for sure that I took the shot from…. Anyway, thanks for your response.

Cubase 14 does not have Quick Export, neither does it have the display of the buffer size in the Status Line. I guarantee you the screenshot is not C14, and it doesn’t look like the Pro edition either as there are no tabs for CR and Meters in the right zone.
Something doesn’t add up here.

The screenshot seems to be from Artist 15. It’s the same as what I see if I load Artist 15 instead of Pro 15. (I’m only demoing.)

Interesting….OK, well, I bought Cubase Pro 15, so let me check on it, and I have Cubase Pro 14, maybe I’m running a version that is not pro…..thanks for the help

So, Cubase AI15 is “NOT” Cubase Pro……

Holy crap, maybe I’ve been running non pro for all of these years…..OK, I’ll try to download my program again.

In any event, you have helped me a lot, and have set me on a path of finding the correct Cubase that I’m paying for…..

OK, well, it seems that you are all correct. So, when i go to download Cubase PRO 15, yes, I’m able to, but when i enable the app, it shows up as Cubase AI15……what the hell is happening here? Yes, from my products it says CUBASE PRO 15. But upon downloading it, is opens as Cubase AI15
thoughts?
