Setting up iZotope RX as an external editor in SpectraLayers results in opening RX multiple copies

Hi! When I set up RX Audio Editor to be an external editor in SpectraLayers, it ends up opening multiple copies of Rx Audio Editor instead of sending the audio to the currently open copy. Is there a way around this? Thanks!

Hi I can’t help you, but I also can’t help myself from asking: why?

Why would you want to open RX spectral editor inside of Spectralayers, which, in my opinion is much more powerful, doing everything RX does and much more while being better at it?

I find the spectral repair module in RX editor to be quicker and more precise, and there are some things I can do in RX that I can’t in SpectraLayers (and vice versa)

But I found a good solution: round-tripping it with the RX Connect VST plugin.

the VST and AAX connect plugins do seem to fight each other though…

I guess I should specify that I’m on macOS 15.6.1… my current workaround is a soundFlow script to quit RX Editor before sending from SL to RX so it opens the correct instance.
