Now WaveLab 12 has excellent copying and pasting that can now be used across DAWs, in my case Ableton, an interesting workflow has presented itself. I want to paste a consolidated clip from Ableton which has a certain BPM. Then in a Montage Clip, I would like to use a VST delay (just an example here). The vst delay has a synch button to dial in Note rather than millisecond settings. I’ve been fiddling with the WaveLab display to get bars and beats, then use time stretch to get the clip into let’s say four bars. This then synchs up OK and I can copy to clipboard with the VST effect to then paste back into Ableton. Is this the best way to do it? Sure I could do everything in Ableton, but I’m thinking of future complex VST chains for small clips that I can drop into my compositions with all manner of different VST effects every few bars…WaveLab now seems ideal for this, so is there any easier way to do this beatmatching and sound design?
